Simon is the founding partner of Hilliard and Berry Solicitors.
Simon has over 20 years experience in employment law, work health and safety, workers compensation, insurance and commercial litigation.
Admitted in 1996, after working in London for Reynolds Porter Chamberlain, Simon commenced at Moray & Agnew ultimately being appointed the National Head of the Workplace Relations Group.
In 2007 Simon was a founding partner of an insurance firm in Sydney ultimately establishing Hilliard and Berry Solicitors in 2013 after recognising the need for employers to receive advice on employment situations which involve an intersection of industrial, safety and insurance concerns.
Simon has extensive experience in acting for large and small employers and companies, providing practical and sage advice throughout all stages of the employment life cycle in matters involving:
- Coronial inquests, work health and safety prosecutions;
- Incident response management;
- Insurance litigation
- Industrial relations litigation;
- Commercial litigation;
- Workers compensation claims and appeals;
An incredibly experienced advocate, in some of the country’s most high profile litigation, Simon has a wealth of experience having represented employers from a range of industries including infrastructure, transport, energy, finance, agricultural and aged care.
Simon is a Law Society of New South Wales accredited specialist and regularly contributes to academic articles as well as providing best practice and compliance training tailored to individual client needs.

Andrea Willits – Senior Associate
Admitted to the Supreme Court of NSW in 2009 and the High Court of Australia in 2013, Andrea joined Hilliard and Berry in 2013 after 5 years with an insurance law firm in Sydney.
Andrea provides employment and commercial advice to a large range of employers and industry groups throughout Australia.
Andrea’s clients span across a broad range of sectors including employers in the aged care, advertising, manufacturing agricultural and meat industries as well as a number of large insurers.
Her experience and areas of specialty include:
- Employment and commercial litigation and advice including appearing regularly in a range of jurisdictions throughout Australia and New Zealand;
- Negotiating, evolving and implementing enterprise agreements;
- Advising and appearing for employers in a diverse range of employment disputes including unfair dismissal, general protections, discrimination and harassment;
- Advising on transfer of business, management change and workforce planning;
- Alternative dispute resolution.
Andrea also advises and appears for a range of businesses in work health and safety matters. Providing pragmatic and tailored defence solutions to clients involved in work health and safety prosecutions and coronial inquires.
In addition, Andrea runs training and seminars for a number of employers and industry groups throughout Australia on work health and safety processes, director and officer duties and risk management under the legislation as well as regularly contributing to professional articles.

Mark Meletopoulo – Solicitor
Mark was admitted in 2014 having completed his Diploma of Law with the Legal Professions Board and Sydney University Law Extension College. He completed his practical training with Turner Freeman Lawyers in Sydney.
Mark has over 30 years experience in commercial aviation with an extensive background in training and examining. He has performed various aviation training management positions and continues to be active in the aviation world.
He joined Hilliard and Berry Solicitors in early 2015.

Milly Khan – Law Graduate
Milly is a Law Graduate in the firm’s Workplace Relations Practice.
Milly completed a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Business Management at the University of Queensland in 2017. During her studies Milly also studied abroad at the University of Vienna and holds a Diploma from the Austrian Arbitration Academy.
With experience in many different practice areas such as commercial litigation and construction, Milly has had the opportunity to work on high profile cases and complex transactions. In her spare time, Milly has undertaken a significant number of pro bono work and brings with her a passion for helping clients achieve the best outcomes by breaking down complex matters and developing solutions.
Milly has completed her practical legal training and will be admitted as a solicitor this year.
